CMTP director Sean Tunis appeared along with notables Ray Kurzweil, Gov. Mitch Daniels, and Daniel Schultz at the InHealth Symposium Accelerating Technological Change: Value and Health Reform. In panel discussions, Dr. Tunis made the point that systemic gaps in knowledge, along with scientific and clinical uncertainty over medical devices and diagnostics, have led to clinicians' decreased use of effective services. He noted the need for a neutral forum to determine what evidence is needed to make decisions to benefit all health care stakeholders. This is the kind of forum CMTP is now providing.
