This report is part of the Center for Medical Technology Policy’s ongoing series of Effectiveness Guidance Documents, which provide specific recommendations on the design and reporting of prospective clinical studies intended to inform decisions by patients, clinicians and payers. The recommendations are targeted to clinical researchers conducting studies of specific clinical interventions or health conditions – in this case, interventions to treat chronic wounds. These documents are developed through an extensive consultative process involving a broad range of experts and stakeholders. We received comments from over 30 diverse individuals and constituencies on the initial draft that was released last year, and thank those of you who contributed to its development for your perspectives. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or additional perspectives on this release.
